Most hamster owners agree that hamsters enjoy toys and that they can be taught to participate in games over a period of time. Hamsters are intelligent creatures that enjoy various toys to keep them busy and pets that get bored often resort to biting themselves or bullying other hamsters. This article will elaborate on some hamster fun games and toys that they usually enjoy.

Edible toys are loved by each and every hamster mainly because these toys can be eaten. Edible toys for fun are usually made out of safe wood. These wooden toys are also colored using safe paint so that owners can enjoy watching their pets play with these toys. Some edible toys for hamsters are also flavored so that your hamster enjoys eating the toy. Edible toys come in various shapes, colors and sizes. Large edible toys are good for large breeds like Syrians where as small edible toys are good for dwarf hamsters. Hamsters like all types of edible toys and it does not make a difference to them if you give them an edible toy in the shape of a burger or a flavored piece of wood. Edible toys are considered a must since these toys prevent the teeth from growing too much. A pet that has overgrown teeth usually has trouble eating.

Shake or rattle toys are loved by all pets since these toys are lots of fun. Rattle toys come in various colors and sizes but they usually come in the shape of a ball. Some sellers also sell rattle toys in the shape of carrots but these toys are usually more expensive than ball shaped rattle toys. These toys have tiny metal or acrylic balls inside the bigger ball which makes the rattling sound. Most pets usually chase these balls to make the ball rattle. Rabbit plush toys are available in many designs, colors and shapes. These toys allow pets to exercise their minds and they also allow hamsters to laze a little bit while playing.

Most hamsters enjoy games that involve food and treats. Hamsters can be taught tricks and commands using food as incentives. Many pet owners use treats to reward their hamsters after some successful training. Since they are natural foragers many owners hide treats in boxes and then wait for their pet to find a way to open the box. Many stores sell special foraging toys made of stainless steel for hamsters. The main aim of this game is to find a way to open the acrylic or steel container to win a treat. Hamster fun also includes pushing objects around in exchange for their favorite treat. If you play a lot of games with your pet hamster then you should remember to use healthy treats like cheese, cooked chicken, tofu or a boiled egg. While fruits and vegetables are an essential part of your hamsters diet these foods should be reserved for meal time not as a reward. Read the rest of this entry »
